I think I finally get it, Dario has been listening to Garret's depressing thoughts for so long that he's afraid of him breaking down alone, without him there to help. But now, Dario is filled up with so much sadness and anxiety worrying about Garret, he is the one breaking down in the end. But Garret sees this and hugs him to comfort and calm him down, like Dario did for him.

THEORY: could this be about how garrett is using dario to dump all of his negative emotions onto? not in a toxic way, of course he doesn't mean to hurt dario, but it seems like dario is enduring all of garett's problems. like he's being his personal therapist, even though he's not qualified to and, since he cares deeply for garett, his problems are starting to get to him, to. never lay down all of your mental issues onto a friend please, they aren't your therapist and you'll end up hurting them- ppl have done it to me it's not a good feeling and dario doesn't know how to tell garett that all of his problems are hurting him so he lets it continue until he too needs a therapist ouch this got dark and really long bye

Sometimes you focus so much on making sure everyone else it okay, that you get in the mindset that you can’t tell anyone that you need help too. You let your hair turn grayer and grayer, until all you see is the suffering of your friends, and not the happiness you have together. sometimes you just have to step back and let yourself feel the love you need and deserve, and let the gray fade away.

I think the comparison of the “baby” character and the one getting “gray hair” in the song is very interesting. I think it’s a really good metaphor for taking too much responsibility and not allowing yourself to be weak, an adult doesn’t cry to a child because they are supposed to be strong for them. In the end of the animation Dario learns that’s not what their relationship should be, they should be equals and equally supporting each other and he is allowed to be vunerable.

Honestly, this made me cry. No joke. The animation, the meaning, the song, everything. I used to have a boyfriend that was constantly in a state of, well, melancholy and sadness. Always dwindled in doldrums. He was awful to himself. He always degraded himself, and put a lot of pressure and stress on to me to the point of me bursting into tears from stress and confusion. I had to tell him that the way he acted hurt me a lot, and made me want to break up. He had a lot of problems. He hurt himself everytime he thought he did something wrong to me, and threatened to kill himself. He would ask touchy questions like, "what would happen if I jumped off the roof?". He was mentally abusive to me, and made me feel bad. He pushed all of his mental problems onto me and I didn't have time to think of myself. I slowly crumbled, and eventually broke. It was the worst relationship I've had by far. I'm not comparing him to Garett, no, no, but he made me get a little gray spot in my HEART for every scare he shared. If you, or anybody else deals with someone in the future that uses you as a punching bag or "toy" to release all their stress onto, and you feel like you just wanna cry, leave them. If they have deep, deep problems, they need to figure them out by themself.

I really adore the story you did for this one! My theory is that Dario is always there for Garret and acts as his emotional support or his shoulder to cry on. He loves him and wants to help him, but it's taking a one-sided emotional toll on him that builds up throughout the animation. In his mind, he probably believes that Garret already has too much on his plate so he doesn't want to add on to it so he doesn't share the pain he feels from it all to him. His grey hair might represent the stress he's gaining from carrying so many of Garrets emotions and not telling about any of his own, and eventually Garret catches on, acting as his shoulder to cry on in return. So what I get from this is Dario seeing Gare putting on a happy face and knowing that underneath it is depression. And from what it looks like, Dario helps Gare cope with his depression. But this in turn makes Dario depressed and worrying himself and wears him out so much to the point his hair turns grey from stress over it. And in the end Gare sees this and acts his shoulder to lean on. This is what I get out of it but perhaps I’m looking at it from the wrong angle. Love your work so much Skaroy :) 💜

Okay, first off- OWW, MY HEART. Second, amazing work as ever! I loved your use of more darker colors to portray the overall somber tone of the video. Lastly, I’m gonna theorize that this video is based on the emotional and mental strife that Dario is going through. I can’t pinpoint what that is exactly, but based on the context clues of the video, I’m assuming that it is because Dario is carrying a lot of weight on him from constantly making sure Garrett is okay, but has never took the time to make sure that he (himself) is okay and that bottling up his problems causes him to grow those metaphorical grey hairs.

I love the fact that you show the negative side of these characters/relationship as well. It honestly helps them be relatable and feel like real people. I had this problem in the relationship I am in right now, I was not in the mindset to date but I loved my boyfriend so much it would be impossible to live without him. I was always stuck looking into the past about the mistakes I made and the people that hurt me. I didn't want to let go of him because I he made me really happy but since that always scared me since I thought I was going to lose him I would always burst out into tears out of nowhere and tell him my fears and why I was sad nearly all the time. This went on for a while until he finally told me how I was making him feel and how him always talking to me about my fears was hurting him but even so he continuously told me he would not leave me because that didn't affect his love. This is stupid rare and because of how honest he was about how I affect him I was able to start to get over my past sometimes I still get stuck in the mindset that I will lose him but the trust I have with him now and the honesty I know we both have now gives me nothing to worry about. Sorry about the rant but please, in a relationship be honest about how you're feeling or it will hurt you, the other person, or the people around you. Also while its good to be honest about your feelings and traumas don't let it take over a relationship and when I say that I mean don't vent about it and don't do anything about it, in the song when it says "I get a little grey hair for every scare you share" it talks about how stress can be given if a friend or loved one has constant problems that they may or may not be able to do anything about, that point is increased at the end where it says "I might die". i think the song is about two lovers/friends, and one of them is becoming depressed and detached, the other friend is the only one who notices it 'i cant be the only one who hears you' so he takes it upon himself to help the friend/lover, but as the friend tells what's happening and is slowly getting better, the pressure of helping the depressed friend is making him depressed himself 'i get a little grey hair, for every scare you share' is him becoming depressed from helping his own friend/lover idk it's a theory, and i think a good one. edit: 308 likes. I don't know why but I cried so much while watching it ;-; I have never been in a relationship or depression before but I just can't stop myself crying when Dario started crying. Great work btw I love it! I think what happened was Garrett was in depression and Dario tried to help him. Because Dario is trying so hard on helping Garrett going through depression and he had to watch someone he loves cry every day, that pressure is way to heavy for him to handle, he got depression from this too. But the only thing he cares about is Garrett not himself, he tried to hide the fact that he got depression and tried to act happy and be a good mental healthy role model for Garrett. This video is sharing the perspective of the person I've been in love with for over 2 years. 10 months ago they told me they didnt love me anymore. I know they still do. But I was too emotional. I was too weak, and too hurt, and it was drowning them. They couldnt handle it. In the past few months of quarantine, I've gone from being hospitalized because of my mental health, to starting to learn how to not dump everything on everybody else. I took about 4 months of silence to myself. No communication with them. And that silence hurt them, but I think I learned a lot. And I think now that we're growing closer again, maybe I've made it better. I hope I have. I'm okay with hurting. But I cant hurt them again. Not like that.

I love the planning that went into this, the darker colors to portray the overall mood/tone of the video, and I love the whole story line, how Dario was trying to keep Garrett happy instead of keeping himself healthy (I assume that’s what was being said, correct me if I’m wrong) and how he was so overwhelmed he started crying in a seemingly happy place, literally and metaphorically. Literal crying explanation: he physically started crying in the middle of a party, hence the song and drawing backgrounds which is odd because parties are usually happy places full of laughter and smiles, not tears. Metaphorical crying explanation: he is in a loving relationship so he the fact that he starts crying over Garrett makes no sense unless we’re given context (which the video provides). Skaroy also uses the metaphorical grey hairs to show the stress Dario is experiencing because he almost cares to much about Garrett (not really, he just wants to make sure he’s doing ok because Garrett is clearly upset in this video) and a stressing over something that should be happy, not to mention full of laughter and smiles, just like the party.
